In Warmachine, the Protectorate of Menoth’s armies include in interesting pieces called the Vessel of Justgement. It’s a massive block that is part mobile mausoleum and part pipe organ. A burly dude pulls it along by a pair of chains while a priest stands in front of it, praying. The model is nice, and is shown below. However, several people have been playing around with the pieces of the model to see what else if could be made into.
So here it is. Inspired by Lanz and others in this thread over at Privateer Press, we now present the Hotrod of Judgement, or the Popemobile! It still a model in progress. That parts have been assembled, but it is still prepaint. A new post will be made when the paint is on. Here are some examples of the army colors. The guy on top is Highway Surfin’ Sevvy, and the driver is Lord Humongous.
This was a surprisingly easy mod, even at my beginner level. It required a total of four cuts with a coping saw, and NO other pieces, which means this model is street legal, er, tournament legal. Only three original pieces were left over: the driver’s legs and belt, and one chain. I was tempted to add his legs underneath, Flintstones style! Give the surfing guy a scarf and add the chain as decorations, and you will use all of the original pieces, and nothing else. Anyone good with greenstuff should have a field day.
Two careful cuts to remove the pipes from the tower as cleanly as possible. Fortunately, any scarring on the tower can be covered by the front fenders.
One cut to smooth off the placement bump from the wheel base. The tower will be attached differently, and the bump will get in the way.
One cut down the backside of the back of the vehicle. Keep the sculpted menofix, but shear the back of this piece flat. Wheel attachment points are optional, as they won’t be needed.
Turn the wheelbase on its curved end and attach the tower to the wheelbase horizontally, with the new bottom edges lined up. This would be backwards to the normal placement, with the whole thing tipped on its side. There will be about a half-inch more wheelbase on the new top edge, with the podium slot pointing up.
Attach the back piece as an endcap above the wheels. Attach the big wheels to the bottom of the wheelbase, and the pipes along the sides above them. Podium slots into its normal slot. Top half of driver gets inserted beneath podium, arms braced to drive. I clipped one of his chains and bent it into a U to use as the steering wheel. On the front, each small wheel gets a metal fender, and should fit into the places where the pipes came from. Prime, paint, and base.
Anyone putting on “Rat Fink” decals will be wracked. Menoth does not approve of this nonsense.
